The Ballad of Johnny & June is a new musical that draws from the life and partnership of Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash. Their marriage, musical collaboration and influence on country music form the core of this production. The show is told through the perspective of their son, John Carter Cash, offering a personal vantage on a public life. The creative team includes director Des McAnuff, and the production is authorised in cooperation with the Cash and Carter estates.
The musical features many of the legendary songs associated with Johnny and June, including “I Walk the Line”, “Ring of Fire”, “Jackson”, “I’ve Been Everywhere” among others. It follows successful runs in North America.
